Class of 2023 Early Decision and Early Action Results

This list includes results from Princeton and the University of Georgia, along with partial data from Barnard, Brown, Grinnell and the University of Pennsylvania.  While Stanford has released decisions, results will not be released.

Class of 2022 Early Admission Results

UPDATE #22 (10/9)

college-studentsHere's our latest list of reported early decision and early action admisison rates for the Class of 2022.

This list includes results from Boston College, Bowdoin, Brown, Claremont McKenna, Colgate, Colorado College, Cornell, Dartmouth, Davidson, Duke, Emory, Emory at Oxford, Georgetown, Georgia Tech, Hamilton, Harvard, Harvey Mudd, Johns Hopkins, MIT, Middlebury, Mt. Holyoke, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Pitzer, Princeton, Rice, Scripps, Tulane (ED), the University of Georgia, UNC Chapel Hill, University of Pennsylvania, University of Virginia, Washington University in St. Louis, Wellesley, Wesleyan and Yale, along with partial data from Barnard, Boston University, Columbia, NYU, Smith, Trinity College, Tufts and Williams.  While Stanford has released decisions, it will likely not release results until the end of the admissions cycle.

U.S. News & World Report Posts 2019 College Rankings

usnwr bestcollegesU.S. News & World Report released their 2019 college rankings earlier today.  Over 1,800 schools were covered nationwide and evaluated on multiple measures of academic excellence and outcomes to produce the final rankings.

Social mobility indicators were added this year, while acceptance rate was eliminated as a factor and others like expert opinions and test scores were reduced in weighting.

Princeton retains sole posession of the top spot for National Universities, and Williams College tops the list of Liberal Arts Colleges.

Common App Extra Essay Requirements (2016-17)

commonapplogoThe Common App for 2016-17 is now live, and we've just wrapped up our analysis of the real number of short answer/essay prompts required for each school.  If you've been through this process before, you know that just because a school lacks a writing supplement doesn't mean there are no additional essays to complete.  Many schools in fact simply embed these prompts in the main application itself.

This post summarizes the prompts required for 200+ Common Application schools in our coverage universe.  Our definition of a prompt is a question that requires more than a one word or one sentence answer.  It's not perfect, but it should help you gauge the amount of writing you'll need to get through over the next few months.  It'll also help you identify schools that you can apply to without the need for extra essays!
